Joe Morley, Board President

_ Joe has over 25 years of experience in the design, production and execution of all types of live events, and has produced over 100 projects in that time. Formally trained as a director and designer who then honed those skills on the stages of New York, Joe’s theatrical credits include design/production positions with The Baltimore and Annapolis Opera Companies, The Baltimore and Washington Ballet Companies, and the Broadway shows When Hell Freezes Over I’ll Skate, On The 20th Century, Speed The Plow, and the hit show Sarafina. 

Since leaving the Great White Way, Joe has brought this experience and expertise to his work in corporate events and videos.

Joe is currently a partner in Studio-on-Hudson, an independent feature film production company. He is co-executive producer of the 2008 Sundance Award winning film Anywhere USA, and of Morgan Spurlock’s critically acclaimed and Academy Award nominated film Super Size Me.  He also holds an executive producer title on the SOH films The Party Heads, Convention, and Class Act.  Class Act, for which Joe also holds a co-writing credit, premiered at the Miami International Film Festival to rave reviews, and was released nationwide in October 2007.  Convention was released by the Independent Film Channel in the spring of 2010. 


Greg Karzhevsky, Board Vice President

Greg Karr is an entrepreneur who contributes his talents and resources to his community.  Professionally, he founded and is the CEO of The Center for Allied Health & Nursing Education, a post-secondary institution providing nursing education through five campuses in New Jersey and Florida.  He received his Bachelors of Arts in Music Business at New York University began his career working for Time Warner prior to venturing into the healthcare industry.  He is excited to be involved in ArtsRock and help bring a variety of arts programming to Rockland County.

Hal Coon

A native Texan, Hal Coon has applied his computer science background to royalty buying for more than a decade. His love of Theater and the Arts is expressed in his generous financial support of arts organizations from the Dallas Museum of Art to ARTSROCK in Rockland County, NY. He has a bachelor degree from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. His lovely wife Helen has put up with him for one score and ten for you old English history buffs.


Jeff Doctorow

Jeff Doctorow has a unique combination of skills and talent.In running his own magazine publishing company,he has years of experience in marketing,promotion and branding,and in creating targeted editorial content and compelling graphic design and layout.He also places a very high value on the arts and is particularly passionate about music and all things guitar.An avid player,he currently performs in Andy & The Rattlesnakes and Azro Cady,as well as solo.He is well known as a collector with a focus on modern contemporary guitars.His instruments have appeared in museum exhibitions and been featured in numerous books and magazines.He helped create,produce,and appeared in a pilot for cable television,titled "Treasured Instruments," that was filmed by the Maysles brothers and hosted by John Sebastian,who also wrote and performed the theme song.He was part of the creative team for a DVD series called "Gourmet Guitars" and served as DVD Executive Producer of "The Blood on the Tracks Project" for The New York Guitar Festival,which celebrated the 30th anniversary of the classic Dylan album.Jeff is honored to be on the ArtsRock board and excited to utilize his talents and contacts to further the ArtsRock mission and increase its presence and influence in Rockland County and beyond.


Martin Flaxman

Martin Flaxman has lived in Nyack almost 20 years with his wife Mary Jane and two children.  With both children now out of the house, he is now officially an empty nester.  With all that free time, he is very excited to join the ArtsRock board.
 
Marty worked for a very brief time as an attorney in Milwaukee in the early 80’s.  When he moved back to NY, he left the practice of law and started working in the insurance industry.  He ran Hartford Life’s NY office for many years until 2002.  Since that time he and his partners in LA run a boutique insurance operation that provides support to some of the most successful insurance agencies in the country.


Elliott Forrest

Elliott Forrest is a Peabody Award winning broadcaster and producer. He is currently heard on Classical 105.9FM WQXR and guest-hosts for Leonard Lopate and John Schaefer and on WNYC. He is the Artistic Director of ArtsRock. He’s produced at The Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center and scores of concerts, events and shows. He is the host and producer of the national radio concerts of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center; and hosts and produces regular podcasts for the New York Philharmonic; has been the ‘voice’ of CNN and LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER on PBS. For more than 12 years he was with the A&E Television Network as host of Breakfast with the Arts and Biography.

_Jeffrey Friedberg

_Jeffrey Friedberg is an award-winning children's musician and a certified music therapist.  He performs throughout the Northeastern USA with THE BOSSY FROG BAND.  He has recorded 7 CDs of music for children and families.  Jeffrey plays banjo, guitar, and sings as well as writes the songs for The Bossy Frog Band.  He worked for 15 years as a music therapist with children and adults with special needs before becoming a full-time performer and recording artist.  He currently resides in Rockland County with his wife and 2 children.  His music can be heard at www.bossyfrog.com.


Rod Greenwood

Rod Greenwood has been a resident of Rockland County  for over 20 years. He has been an active member of the community during that time. He was a founder and board member of the Hudson  Valley Children’s Museum. He actively participates in Midnight Run  (a hunger program for the homeless) and is a contributor and participant in the Sunday Supper program in Nyack (another food program directed at the underserved).  Rod is a life long fan of the performing arts and  is looking forward to helping ArtsRock as it continues to grow and serve the community with a variety of programming at various locations across the County.

Professionally, Rod has been a technologist in the Financial Services industry for many years.  He has over 30 years  experience in developing applications and managing projects and infrastructure. Currently Rod is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in the Technology and Data department. . He was born and raised in England and received his Bachelors degree in Industrial Economics from Nottingham University. Rod has also lived and worked  in London, Los Angeles and Hong Kong.



Nelson Page

Nelson has been affiliated with the motion picture exhibition industry for the past 30 years.  As President of MajesticStar Entertainment, he presently oversees five locations with a total of twenty screens, located in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, including the Paramount Theatre in Middletown, NY.

As Director General of the Historic Middletown Paramount Theatre, Nelson has brought in a variety of entertainment.  Programming has included several classic movie series, comedy, dance as well as popular and classic music concerts.  He has worked in close connection with the Cultural and Civic Affairs Department and the Middletown District Management Association to produce the Summer Concert Series, the July 4th Celebration and the Holiday Tree lighting.  He also currently hosts a WALL radio show reviewing first run movies every Tuesday morning.

In addition to his efforts in the movie business, Nelson is also the Vice Chairman of the Adirondack Film Society, which sponsors an annual silent film series each October to great success.  The Society recently held its tenth annual film festival in Lake Placid, NY.  The Lake Placid Film Forum had over 1250 participants and is an internationally covered event bringing news media to upper New York State to celebrate filmmakers and their art.  Nelson also serves as Chairperson of the Fort Lee Film Commission.

In addition, Nelson serves on several other Boards, which include Theatre Organ Society International (TOSI), Bergen County (NJ) Film Commission, Arts Rock, Rockland County NY and the Tri State Chamber of Commerce, Port Jervis, NY.


Katie Rosin

Instrumental in the launch of the Broadway musical Brooklyn and the National Tour of Mother Load. She worked on the publicity team for the comedian, Jerry Seinfeld, and his movie Comedian. Lisa Waterworth

Lisa has over 20 years of professional business experience in a wide variety of industries.  She started out in commercial finance and banking and then quickly followed her real passion by crossing over to arts-related organizations.  Lisa did a brief internship with New York Philharmonic, worked as the Business Manager for a school for the arts in the Bronx, was the founding Business Manager for the original Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center in Nyack, and then worked as the Director of Special Events for the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, where the inaugural production of Ragtime ran.  She raised and managed over $250K in special events their first year.  She was a Business Manager for Viacom Corp. and then moved to programming finance at Showtime, where she was in charge of disbursing millions of dollars in license fees to the major film studios.  As the Controller for Castle Hill Productions, a video distribution company in NYC that had three different film libraries, she re-built the entire business department, handling all of the accounting, banking, and royalty reports for film producers.  Lisa has always had a huge passion for film and was a line producer on a short film and an associate producer on a documentary, both of which played at international film festivals and various ancillary rights were acquired by distributors.  In the fall of 2012, Lisa started her own company,         23 Elephants Business Solutions Inc., to do freelance accounting and financial reporting for small and start-up companies in the NYC tri-state area.  As a classically trained singer she sings with the Riverside Choral Society in NYC and at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church.  Lisa has performed several of the major choral works in venues around the world.  She is absolutely thrilled to be part of ArtsRock and support its mission of bringing professional arts of all kinds to the Rockland County area.
