        ARTSROCK BOARD OF DIRECTORS


        Joe Morley, Board President

        _ Joe has over 25 years of experience in the design, production and execution of all types of live events, and has produced over 100 projects in that time. Formally trained as a director and designer who then honed those skills on the stages of New York, Joe’s theatrical credits include design/production positions with The Baltimore and Annapolis Opera Companies, The Baltimore and Washington Ballet Companies, and the Broadway shows When Hell Freezes Over I’ll Skate, On The 20th Century, Speed The Plow, and the hit show Sarafina. 

        Since leaving the Great White Way, Joe has brought this experience and expertise to his work in corporate events and videos.

        Joe is currently a partner in Studio-on-Hudson, an independent feature film production company. He is co-executive producer of the 2008 Sundance Award winning film Anywhere USA, and of Morgan Spurlock’s critically acclaimed and Academy Award nominated film Super Size Me.  He also holds an executive producer title on the SOH films The Party Heads, Convention, and Class Act.  Class Act, for which Joe also holds a co-writing credit, premiered at the Miami International Film Festival to rave reviews, and was released nationwide in October 2007.  Convention was released by the Independent Film Channel in the spring of 2010. 



        Greg Karr, Board Vice President

        Greg Karr is an entrepreneur who contributes his talents and resources to his community.  Professionally, he founded and is the CEO of The Center for Allied Health & Nursing Education, a post-secondary institution providing nursing education through five campuses in New Jersey and Florida.  He received his Bachelors of Arts in Music Business at New York University began his career working for Time Warner prior to venturing into the healthcare industry.  He is excited to be involved in ArtsRock and help bring a variety of arts programming to Rockland County.

        Marilyn Kaskel, Board Secretary

        Marilyn Kaskel is an Emmy and Gracie award-winning producer with more than 25 years in broadcast television.  As Brian Williams’ senior producer at NBC News, she covered breaking news stories, political conventions and the OJ Simpson saga.  During her years producing syndicated talk shows, Marilyn produced the highest rated show in the genre’s history – the infamous skinhead show with Geraldo Rivera.  Later, through her award-winning production company, she created long form documentaries for PBS, focusing on women’s issues.  Known for getting exclusive interviews with world leaders and newsmakers, Marilyn has produced thousands of segments for the biggest on-air talent in the business.  She produced the Conversation Series at Riverspace Arts in Nyack which included evenings with Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and director Mike Nichols.  She serves on the boards of the Rockland Family Shelter and the Nyack Chamber of Commerce and she looks forward to being a part of ArtsRock.

        Peter Danish

        _ Peter Danish has been a Senior Media Marketing Executive for over two decades, serving as Director of Marketing for NBC, Vice President of Marketing for Telemundo and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Azteca TV Network.  He’s been the driving force behind several of the most successful media marketing campaigns on television over the last decade.  For five years he’s consulted for major television networks; arts organizations as well as host of other blue chip clients.  As such he’s producer of over fifty major live events. He’s been the producer, director or writer of over one hundred hours of content for air; including numerous telethons, award shows, and television network Upfront Presentations.  His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Ad Age, Ad Week, Media Week as well as major industry and trade publications.  In addition, he is the writer of two Emmy-Award winning Public Service Announcements.  He’s won both the GE Ovation Award for innovation and excellence and the Advertising Age SAMS Award for outstanding ad campaign.

        Deborah Darbonne


        Alice DiSanto

        __ Alice DiSanto is a generous contributor of her time and professional talents throughout Rockland County (NY) and joined the ArtsRock team to represent the western side of our county.  She serves on the Board of Directors for the Garnerville Arts Center (GAGA), is on the Advisory Board for the Rockland Conservatory of Music, and is a certified member of the Village of Montebello Zoning Board.  In Suffern, she is an active member of the Suffern Rotary Club and is co-founder of the annual “Mystic Makeover Fashion Show for Breast Cancer Awareness” (www.mysticpinkdivas.com). 

        Professionally, she is the PR & Marketing Director for LS Direct Marketing of Suffern, New York (www.ls-direct.com) and also maintains an independent consultancy working on an array of community-based initiatives.

        Her leadership success in sales, marketing and public relations comes from a diverse background. Early training and accomplishments were earned at Toyota Motor Sales, USA where she worked in the New York Region and at Toyota’s Torrance (CA) headquarters. Alice then went on to work with two (2) upstart companies and one of Rockland County’s (NY) largest nonprofits. Her project management and event management skills have transcended the diverse industries of health care, automotive, and information technology.

        Elliott Forrest is a Peabody Award winning broadcaster and producer. He is currently heard on Classical 105.9FM WQXR and guest-hosts for Leonard Lopate and John Schaefer and on WNYC. He is the Artistic Director of ArtsRock. He’s produced at The Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center and scores of concerts, events and shows. He is the host and producer of the national radio concerts of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center; and hosts and produces regular podcasts for the New York Philharmonic; has been the ‘voice’ of CNN and LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER on PBS. For more than 12 years he was with the A&E Television Network as host of Breakfast with the Arts and Biography.

        _Jeffrey Friedberg

        _Jeffrey Friedberg is an award-winning children's musician and a certified music therapist.  He performs throughout the Northeastern USA with THE BOSSY FROG BAND.  He has recorded 7 CDs of music for children and families.  Jeffrey plays banjo, guitar, and sings as well as writes the songs for The Bossy Frog Band.  He worked for 15 years as a music therapist with children and adults with special needs before becoming a full-time performer and recording artist.  He currently resides in Rockland County with his wife and 2 children.  His music can be heard at www.bossyfrog.com.
