Development Manager/Grant Writer

Position Overview
This role is an opportunity to lead the fundraising efforts at a nonprofit dedicated to produce or sponsor arts, multi-cultural and entertainment programming for the benefit of diverse audiences in and around Rockland County. As a Development Manager, you will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of grants from government agencies, foundations, corporate and individual donors while prospecting for new grant opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Executive/Artistic Director, Managing Director and Board Fundraising Committee to craft strategies and proposals for specific funding needs and to identify corporate sponsors for fundraising events
- Write full grant proposals to government, corporate and foundation funders
- Gather data and write reports to government, corporate and foundation funders
- Work with the Managing Director to deliver proposal budgets and fiscal reports to funders
- Prospect new potential government, corporate and foundation funders, while also maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing funders
- Produce and distribute acknowledgements and receipts related to corporate and foundation grants and contributions
- Write full event sponsorship proposals, decks, and other sponsorship communications materials
- Provide status updates on proposals to the Board
- File and organize the items associated with all prospective funding opportunities and proposal packages
- Participate in Board Fundraising Committee
Qualifications
- 3+ years of related professional experience required
- An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organization skills, and time management
- Experience writing winning grant proposals and building relationships with government, corporate and/or foundation staff
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- High level of skill with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team>
Compensation
Salary: hourly wage depending upon experience
Job Type: Part-time - 5-10 hours/week
Flyer Distribution Specialist
Car and clean driving record required.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, is specifically responsible for flyer distribution throughout Rockland, Westchester, and Bergen Counties. Must have a clean driving record and be outgoing and personable to expand the number of locations where flyers are placed. Pay is New York minimum wage + mileage calculated at the Federal Reimbursement Rate.
